Helping You Have "The Sex Talk"
Hellooooo there fellow parent types! I know. I just sent one of these out about a week ago. This is not your regularly scheduled programming, and I promise I’ll be quick. I just wanted to ask you for your help.
So. I'm conducting a survey to better understand how educators can help parents and other caregivers talk to their children about sex.
As a parent who socializes with other parents, I know how fraught these convos can feel. In fact, just the other week, a new friend said she was going to have me talk to her child about puberty.
I think she was kidding…? 😂
Either way, I’d love to delve deeper into the fears and/or hesitation we carry around these conversations, and explore how we can make our relationships with health educators more collaborative vs. adversarial. I truly believe that, in working together, we can raise kids who know their value, own their autonomy, set healthy boundaries, and treat others with respect and dignity.
Responses to the survey will be anonymous, and I'll be using the results in a presentation I'm giving later this year.
Basically, if you respond to this, you will have my undying love and gratitude. If I could (consensually) hug everyone who filled out this survey, I totally would.
Here it is. Here’s the thing:

Thanks y’all. Truly.
P.S. If you are a sex educator who would like to help out, I have a separate survey for you!
